This lightweight, durable ski/snowboard helmet permits temperature to be adjusted inside while on the slope with a slide on the outside providing three settings to regulate air flow through the helmet’s 16 vents. The helmet’s in-mold construction a tough polycarbonate outer shell fused to an EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner reinforces both materials, allowing for larger vents and less material and resulting in a light, cool helmet. Lightweight foam vent plugs snap in for a tight seal against chill. Removable, injection-molded earflaps lock directly into the liner, which can be removed for washing. A wide-angle cut creates a gapless fit with goggles and doesn’t compromise peripheral vision. A security loop and Giro’s Goggle Notch lock goggles to helmet. Depending on size, it weighs approximately 14.5 ounces.
About Giro
Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry’s toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too–in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.

OK, so I grew up skiing since the age of 5 and for 30 years, I never once protected my head, other than a hat. I was skeptical to ski with a helmet until my older brother convinced me of it. I have now skied with the Giro Fuse a few times and love it. It’s remarkably light weight and adds a level of warmth and feeling of security that I didn’t anticipate. When I was younger, I had several close calls that in hindsight could have resulted in serious head injuries. I think that ski resorts should offer ticket discounts for those who wear helmets. A must have for anyone who values their cranium. A++

This is one of the best helmets out there. It is very light, yet durable and has a handy ventilation system that can be opened or closed with one switch. This is perfect for varying temperature conditions. when it is hot, just click over the switch to open the vents and as you ride, the wind will cool your head down adequately.

This is a nice helmet. Works as advertised. Fortunately, I haven’t had an accident that really ‘test’ its protection features..but it looks good, fits well and is comfortable. I like the air vents and the easy access to open/close those vents.
I see lots of people wearing helmets..that is a good thing

I love the Giro Fuse helmet. It is so light you can barely tell you’re wearing anything on your head. It also keeps your head very warm.

Loved the Helmet. Comfortable on the sunny days, and the cold days. The adjustability was great for the vents and the fit of the helmet.
I received it the day before I left on my trip, and used it six days straight. I was a little nervous that it would not arrive in time, but it made it.
