- Helmets fit up to 98-percent of the human population
Product Description
Snowboard super pros Tommy Czeschin or Antti Autti gave the Giro Encore 2 Signature Series Helmet an advanced, durable construction, because eating it from 15 feet above the lip requires serious head protection. The Encore 2′s low-profile, skate style looks good without going overboard. 13 mesh covered vents provide ventilation, without letting snow in if you crash. Giro covered an impact absorbing EPS liner with a plastic shell for durability, so the Encore 2 will last through many seasons of riding. Tommy and Antti gave the Encore 2 a custom graphic so you’ll stand out in the park.

I realize this is not Giro’s top of the line helmet, but I expected a little better paddding quality and much better sound quality (the sound quaility is really bad!). The right ear pad keeps falling out of it’s slot/position and it a bit of a nuisance. I purchaed the helmet due to it’s dual usage as a bike helmet.

I received the encore helmet this morning (Tommy Czechin version). The helmet comes with three different sets of removable interior pads, each a different thickness, so you can adjust the fit reasonably well. My first impression is positive.
I did have one issue – the helmet description said that it included the Tune-ups audio ear-pads, but the item I received had only the standard ear-pads. Amazon said that this was a mistake, that it should have included the audio ear-pads, but that there were no more of this size / color in-stock. So far I have decided to keep the helmet anyway instead of returning it, but beware if you are ordering this and you care about the audio – the deal may not be as good as it seems (I think you can buy the Tune-ups separately, but not from amazon).

Helmet is extremely comfortable and light, only negative thing about the helmet is the paint scuffs very easily.

I tried multiple helmets at a Sports Authority store and found it (Encore 2) the most comfortable one. It is even better than many $150+ helmets from Soloman, K2 etc. For a frequent skier like me (on the mountain every weekend), I need a helmet that I can wear very often and for long hours each time. And this is the one. (Note: Be sure to get Encore “2″ as it improves a lot from the original Encore series). Last but not least, the design on this one (Risto Matteilla Signature)is cool. Anyway, no complaint on this product or Amazon’s service (delivered in 2 days with free shipping) whatsoever.

Great helmet for a low low price! It’s already helped me from hitting my head once! No need for a helmet liner it’s plenty warm but cool enough for warmer days! Great helmet for all mountain or hitting up the park! A+++
